Saturday, June 14, at 9 at First Congregational
It's time for another round of great and meaningful conversation. Thusfar, over 200 Oshkosh citizens, ages 15 to 79, have gotten together in Diversity Circles to share ideas about how Oshkosh can meet our vision of a better, more inclusive, community for everyone.
Diversity Circles meet four times, for two hours at a time, usually on the same day of the week. Trained facilitators work with each group, with about 8 to 12 members in each circle. Each group uses a curriculum titled A Busy Citizen's Guide to a More Perfect Union in an Age of Diversity, provided by a non-profit organization called Everyday Democracy.
- Please come to the Race Unity Social, on Sunday, June 8; noon to 5 p.m., at Abe Rochlin Park in Oshkosh. Bring an ethnic dish to pass. Click here to find out more.
Next meeting:
Tuesday, June 10, at noon at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh.
Yolanda Rizza, Case Manager, UMOS (United Migrant Opportunity Services) will present an overview of services available to migrants in our area at next week's Diversity Council meeting. Join us for lunch (bring your own) and information on Tuesday, June 10, at noon at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh.
This will be the annual meeting of the Oshkosh Diversity Council. A short part of the business portion of the meeting will be devoted to bylaws changes and new officers will be elected.
